EXCEPTIONAL DINING EXPERIENCE AWAITS CARDMEMBERS

(Manila, December 17, 2004) American Express International, Inc. today launched American Express Selects in the Philippines. American Express Selects is a worldwide program tailor-made to provide American Express Cardmembers with the best value merchant offers in key destinations around the world.

In the Philippines, 18 renowned dining establishments covering 48 locations in Metro Manila took the lead to join the American Express Selects program. Consumers carrying American Express branded cards can enjoy a variety of culinary choices and exceptional dining privileges. The program launched in the US in June this year, provides Cardmembers with over 3,000 offers of high quality shopping, dining, and travel values from quality merchants in 24 countries around the world.

- one free buffet meal for every five diners at Cabalen and The Seafood Club and
