Hollywood's rising stars in
Louis Vuitton's Fall/Winter '04-'05 ad campaign
Following the success of the Fall/Winter '03-'04 campaign featuring Jennifer
Lopez, and Summer '04's "goddesses of the desert", Louis Vuitton once
again looks toward Hollywood and chooses five of its brightest young stars for
the House's Fall/Winter '04-'05 advertising campaign.

Louis Vuitton Artistic Director Marc Jacobs expresses the glamour of the
season's collection through the contemporary portraits of rising actors Scarlett
Johansson, Diana Kruger, Christina Ricci, Chloe Sevigny and Hayden Christensen.
The five young thespians have been consistently referred to as the most talented
of their generation, making them the perfect choices for Louis Vuitton's
campaign.
New York native Scarlett Johansson's breakthrough role was in the
coming-of-age drama Manny & Lo, while her most recent roles in Sofia
Coppola's Lost in Translation, and The Girl with a Pearl Earring further
established Johansson as a Hollywood star. German model Diana Kruger graced
countless of fashion magazines before Hollywood beckoned. She starred as Helen
in the blockbuster hit Troy and will soon be seen in the film Wicker Park.
Christina Ricci continues to receive both critical and commercial praise by
starring in such films as The Ice Storm, Buffalo '66, Pecker, The Opposite of
Sex, and Monster. "It" Girl Chloe Sevigny also received critical
acclaim for her roles in the films Kids, The Last Days of Disco, Boys Don't Cry,
and American Psycho. Hayden Christensen first caught Hollywood's attention the
family melodrama Life as a House, but it was his being cast as Anakin Skywalker
in Episode II and Episode III of the venerable Star Wars franchise that further
brought Christensen to the spotlight.
With a theatrical setting, Johansson, Kruger, Ricci, Sevigny and Christensen
play different characters and embody the Louis Vuitton universe. The ad concept
has a "lounge attitude", relaxed but extremely steady which
illustrates the combination of the perfectly chic and the ultra-feminine. For
this campaign, Jacobs once again enlisted top English photographers Mert Alas
and Marcus Piggott, confident in the team's talents to capture the essence of
Louis Vuitton: luxury, sophistication and modernity.
