Miss Earth 2003 Halloween Party

The Miss Earth beauty pageant is a contest with a cause, to preserve our environment and protect mother earth. Besides beauty, contestants were judged on their contribution to helping the environment. It was therefore nice to see such an event that had a worthy cause.

Taking time away from their hectic schedules, the beautiful contestants had the opportunity to relax and unwind during their halloween party held at the Hotel Intercon in Manila, Philippines.

Below is the coverage of the event.

I arrived at the party around 8pm. As I entered the party place I noticed a lot of tall girls dressed up in various halloween costumes. Some of the guests were already taking photo ops with the Miss Earth contestants. Myself I headed to the bar to grab a couple of drinks for me and my wife, who was there covering the event for the Daily Tribune.

We later entered a door which led to a very big room where all the action was. There was a big dance floor, lounges and several bars to grab some free drinks. As the night was still early, I decide to get some photos of the Miss Earth contestants. There were some noticeable standouts, such as the beautiful Miss Bolivia and Miss Brazil.

As to why I am not smiling in the picture, maybe it was because my wife was taking the picture, and I did not want to look too happy.

Moving around the place, noticed Miss Panama and Miss Bolivia together. Took more photos.

Looking around, I noticed the beautiful Miss France (who won the Best in Swimsuit award) sitting alone. Now was the time I appreciated the 3 years I spent learning French.

Then came the beauty pageant, wherein the Miss Earth contestants paraded one by one in their designer costumes. Pictured below, from left to right, are: Miss Antigua, Miss Argentina, Miss Australia, Miss Belgium, and Ms. Bolivia.

After this the night was spent dancing, the guests and the Miss Earth contestants together. Me and my wife left the event around 12 midnight while the party was still going strong.

All in all I enjoyed the event, and hope that the Miss Earth pageant comes back to the Philippines.
